The turret of the Ukrainian self-propelled gun Dana was torn apart by an unsuccessful shot

The Ukrainian military damaged the Dana self-propelled guns with an unsuccessful shot.

One unsuccessful shot by Ukrainian artillerymen from a Dana self-propelled artillery mount caused the self-propelled howitzer to detonate during loading. As a result of the explosion, the barrel of the howitzer was torn off and the turret was torn apart - in all likelihood, the repair of this artillery mount will last for several months.

In the presented picture, you can see that the self-propelled artillery mount is seriously damaged.

The barrel of the latter is on the armor, while a closer look shows that the howitzer's front part of the turret is also torn. How exactly the explosion occurred and what is the fate of the crew of the self-propelled artillery mount is unknown, however, such a case clearly indicates that the reliability of even Western self-propelled guns is in very high doubt.

Experts note that the cause of the explosion could be insufficiently high-quality maintenance of the self-propelled artillery mount, especially against the background of its fairly intensive use, however, no official statements have been made in this regard so far.
