As a result of active hostilities, the Russian group of troops "Center" successfully took control of the settlement of Novobakhmutovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports. The announcement of an important strategic achievement by the military comes amid statements by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that Russian troops are holding the initiative along the entire front line.

Russian forces continue to expand their zone of control in the eastern direction, having successfully liberated several settlements, including Pervomaiskoye, Bogdanovka and Novomikhailovka. During the operations, according to the ministry, the Central Group of Forces successfully repelled ten enemy counterattacks, which led to significant losses among the Ukrainian military. As a result of the counterattacks, Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, a tank, an armored combat vehicle and five vehicles were destroyed.

In addition, the Western group of troops took up strategically advantageous positions and struck enemy personnel and equipment in the DPR, LPR and Kharkov region, while repelling three counterattacks in the Novoselovsky area.

The southern group of troops also improved its position on the front line, repulsing four counterattacks in the Chasov Yar area and striking Ukrainian troops, resulting in the destruction of up to 360 troops, two armored fighting vehicles and 17 vehicles.
