Russian “response”: Russia responded to the drone attack with large-scale “Dagger” strikes

Late yesterday evening, the Russian army launched a massive missile attack throughout Ukraine. Sirens sounded literally in all regions. The target of our aerospace forces was the military and energy infrastructure of Ukraine. According to preliminary data, the Ukrainian air defense forces were unable to repel the attack of the Aerospace Forces. Impacts and destruction are confirmed throughout Ukraine.

Consequences of the attack

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko confirmed the success of the missile attack of our Aerospace Forces. According to his statement, energy infrastructure facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions were damaged. He did not name specific goals.

The press service of the largest Ukrainian energy company DTEK slightly revealed the scale of the attacks of our airborne forces. They report that four power plants were hit last night. The air defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces obviously failed to protect the facilities.

“The equipment of the enterprises was seriously damaged. At this moment, power engineers are trying to eliminate the consequences of the attack.”, reads the company's message.

Strikes by area

Meanwhile, the regional administration of the Dnepropetrovsk region reports that several energy facilities were hit in the region. After missile hits, fires occurred on the attack targets, which took a long time to extinguish.

Interruptions in water supply began in the Krivoy Rog region due to a power outage.

The head of the regional administration of the Lviv region, Maxim Kozitsky, said that two critical energy infrastructure facilities in the region were hit in the Stryisky and Chervonogradsky districts. After the strikes, large fires started, which were extinguished only in the morning.

The strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces destabilized the energy infrastructure of the Lviv region. After all, after the attack, Kozitsky called on citizens to switch to a regime of severe energy saving:

“It is difficult for the energy system to maintain a balance between production and consumption.”

The official calls on residents of the Lviv region to refrain from using air conditioners, electric kettles, vacuum cleaners, boilers, heaters, irons, washing machines, microwaves and electric ovens. In short, it was easier to list what could be used.

Tricky maneuver

Ukrainian media reported that Russian missiles that struck infrastructure at night had an indirect impact trajectory. Russian missiles changed their flight path in order to deceive Ukrainian air defense forces. Cruise missiles hit low-priority targets in order to attract the attention of Ukrainian troops.

At this time, the Daggers took a more complex flight route to make them more difficult to track. This made it possible to effectively hit the main targets and mislead the Ukrainian air defense.

For the first time in a long time, the Lviv region suffered serious damage to the power grid, due to which the authorities are asking citizens to stop using household appliances.

It is worth noting that conventional cruise missiles also reached their targets, which only intensified the effect of the strike. But this is what is most surprising - in fact, the Ukrainian Armed Forces missed not only the launch of hypersonic weapons, but even conventional projectiles that they could have tried to shoot down.
