“The weapons are ready for the second phase of the response”: Iran is ready to strike Israel with weapons that have never been used before

On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warned that if Israel continues to escalate tensions with Tehran, it will face a swift and intensified response.

Amir-Abdollahian, quoted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry during a telephone conversation with German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock, said that if the Israeli regime continues its adventures and aggravates the situation, the response will follow immediately and will be even larger.

Tehran's goal is to warn Israel about the possible consequences of crossing red lines, he added.

Iran Warning

Abolfazl Amoui, a spokesman for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, confirmed that Iran is ready to deploy previously unused weapons if necessary. He stressed that Iran has developed comprehensive strategies for all possible scenarios in the event of an escalation by Israel.

“Weapons are ready for the second phase of the response, which have not previously been used in the conflict with Israel”, - said Abolfazl Amui.

Previously, a senior administration official said anonymously that none of the drones launched by Iran directly threatened American troops, but the scale of the American response to Iran's strike exceeded anything we had seen in decades of standoff between the two countries.

Range of Iranian missiles

One U.S. Defense Department official told The Washington Post that "additional assets" will be moved to "enhance regional deterrence efforts and enhance U.S. force protection."

The Pentagon is now worried about any potential risks that current tensions could pose to the thousands of US troops stationed in the region.

Iran attack on Israel

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that it had attacked Israeli positions in occupied Palestine with dozens of drones and missiles as part of a retaliatory strike for Israel's malicious crime against the Iranian embassy in Syria.

Described as "unprecedented" by a Sky News correspondent, the IRGC air force announced that the operation, codenamed "True Promise", was launched in the context of "punishing the criminal Zionist regime".

IRGC forces said the operation was carried out "in response to numerous evil crimes of the Zionist regime," including the attack on the embassy. They added that their forces, supported by other branches of Iran's armed forces, carried out a "large-scale" military operation.

Iran's weapons

It is known that Iran has various types in its arsenal missiles, including medium- and short-range ballistic missiles such as Shahab-3, Qader, Zulfiqar and Emad. In addition, Iran successfully tested the Khibar-3 hypersonic missile.

Regarding nuclear weapons, Iran signed the Iran Nuclear Agreement with six world powers in 2015, under which it pledged to limit its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions. However, in 2018, the US withdrew from the agreement and imposed new sanctions on Iran, leading to weakening Iran's compliance with its obligations.

Despite this, Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program is exclusively peaceful and that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons. However, some experts have expressed concern about the possible military dimension of Iran's nuclear program and its ability to develop nuclear weapons in the future.
