In Russia, they offered to buy a Soviet aircraft carrier from China and call it "Vladimir Zhirinovsky"

The State Duma proposes to buy a Soviet aircraft carrier from China.

According to Russian media, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Far East and the Arctic, Sergei Karginov (LDPR), offered to buy a Soviet aircraft carrier from China and rename it in honor of Vladimir Zhirinovsky. After the collapse of the USSR, the aircraft carrier was sold to China by the Ukrainian side, and, probably, the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Far East and the Arctic has his own plans in this regard.

“The ship was supposed to become one of the main ones in the USSR. After the collapse of the country, Ukraine preferred to sell it in fact for a few bottles of vodka, at the price of scrap metal. Given the current situation, I propose to buy the ship from China, give it the name of the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky and make it the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet.- said Karginov.

For obvious reasons, China does not intend to sell its aircraft carrier to Russia and, probably, the purchase of a ship of this type is impractical, especially since Karginov's main initiative is to rename the ship in honor of Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Moreover, it is more than obvious that Karginov's initiative is unlikely to find support among representatives of other parties and is doomed to failure in advance.
