Onyx missiles were equipped to destroy ground targets

New weapons have appeared in the arsenal of the Russian Federation that can significantly increase the capabilities of Onyx supersonic anti-ship missiles to hit ground targets. According to information obtained from a source in the Russian military-industrial complex and published by the TASS agency, new active homing heads were installed on these missiles. This technological innovation allows Onyx missiles, previously intended mainly to destroy naval groups, to effectively attack ground targets, including military facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition to improving target designation, methods are being developed to protect these missiles from enemy electronic warfare, which significantly increases their survivability and effectiveness on the battlefield. Onyx missiles were developed by NPO Mashinostroyenia in Reutov and are part of the Tactical Missiles Corporation. These weapons are used both on warships and submarines of the Russian Navy, and are also integrated into the Bastion coastal missile system.

This innovation means a significant increase in the potential of the Russian armed forces in terms of destroying highly protected and significant enemy ground targets.
