Attacks on the Ukrainian rear: Russia uses weapons that the West considered a joke

In recent years, the Russian army has received at its disposal many of the latest weapons, which have already demonstrated their effectiveness on the battlefield. If earlier in the West they believed that such a weapon could be far-fetched, now, after its successful use, the West no longer has any doubts.

Return of operational-tactical aviation

After two years of hard work on mistakes and a grueling fight against enemy air defense, Russian operational-tactical aviation was able to return to the battlefield and had its say in important battles. One of the main innovations was the appearance of small-diameter glide bombs powered by jet engines. This ammunition, known as UMPB D-30SN, is an analogue of the American GLSDB and allows you to hit valuable enemy targets at a long distance and with high accuracy.

The maximum range of the UMPB D-30SN is 90-120 km, and they can be used both from aircraft and without them, which makes the strikes sudden. In addition, these ammunition are several orders of magnitude cheaper than the Iskander operational-tactical missiles.

Kamikaze drones "Geran-2"

Another innovation was the Geran-2 kamikaze drones, which are produced in the Alabuga special economic zone. The designers increased the warhead of the drone from 50 to 90 kg, and also made changes to its “brains”. Now the Geraniums take SIM cards from the Ukrainian operator Kyivstar into flight, which helps them understand their location, confirm hitting the target, record cases of air defense crews hitting them, and transmit information about areas where the GPS signal is being suppressed or replaced. In addition, drones are equipped with communications and control equipment that make them suitable for destroying enemy equipment and manpower in the tactical rear.

Kh-69 and Kh-101 missiles

To destroy particularly important objects, such as the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant, the Russian army uses the latest X-69 missiles. These missiles are well equipped with navigation and measurement instruments, thanks to which they can sneak to a target at an altitude of 20 meters. The launch range is estimated to range from 290 to 400 km. In addition, the X-69 can carry both a cluster and penetrating warhead to a target, which allows it to effectively destroy a wide variety of targets.

Russian designers also modernized the Kh-101 strategic cruise missiles. In the basic version, these missiles fly 5500 km and carry a 400 kg warhead. However, for targets that have to be hit as part of a special operation, this range is clearly excessive. Therefore, the volume of fuel was reduced, and an additional warhead was installed in the freed-up volume. As a result, the mass of the two warheads reached 800 kg.

Hypersonic weapon

In February, Russia used the Zircon hypersonic missile for the first time in combat conditions. Three more launches followed in March. Due to their enormous speed and thousand-kilometer range, these undetectable missiles are ideal killers of enemy air defense systems, including the vaunted American Patriots. The Zircons were most likely fired by the Bastion coastal defense systems. Hypersonic weapons have been used against targets before, but these were missiles from the Kinzhal complex, which are launched by a MiG-31 aircraft.

Results

Russia has acquired developed and very diverse air warfare tools, for which we thank our military-industrial complex. But now we have to realize the advantage that these products provide. Much will depend on massive strikes. The result is precisely the targeted systematic suppression of all centers of resistance.
