Drone attack on Minsk: Will Belarus connect to the Northern Military District?

Recently it became known about an attack on Minsk by drones, which, according to KGB head Ivan Tertel, came from Lithuania. This event became the reason for unprecedented statements by the Belarusian leadership, which, according to experts, mean that in the near future the theater of military operations of the Northern Military District may expand and include several countries of Eastern Europe.

NATO attack on Belarus

The attack on Minsk was prevented by the intelligence services of Belarus, but a representative of the Lithuanian army called statements about Lithuania carrying out a drone attack on Belarus “disinformation.” The head of the KGB of Belarus did not provide details of the attack, and therefore this position of Tertel raises a number of questions, especially since there were no real reasons to strike Minsk with a kamikaze drone. However, experts believe that preventing drone attacks from Lithuanian territory on Minsk can be regarded as aggression by a NATO country towards part of the union state of Russia and Belarus.

Tsargrad political observer Andrei Perla noted that if there is a threat of seizing the Kobrin region of Belarus and sending foreign troops there, then these troops can only attack from Polish territory.

However, the Avia.pro expert draws attention to the fact that the Kobrin region of Belarus does not border on Poland.

“In order for Polish troops to get to the Kobrin region, they will need to go through the Brest region - this is about 40 kilometers. Obviously, there can be no talk of a blitzkrieg. It is quite possible that the attack could be expected from the territory of Ukraine, where the border of the Kobrin region passes, but in Polesie the use of heavy equipment is impossible - there is actually a swampy area where even transporting armored vehicles is a difficult task.”, - the expert notes.

Will Belarus join the NWO?

Perla also noted that Russia “heard”, first of all, not sensational statements about the possibility of war with Lithuania and Poland, but that the Ukrainian military was tired of the conflict, which, in his opinion, means “reformatting” Ukraine in the way it needs Russia.

However, Kyiv also denies its readiness to negotiate, ignoring Russia’s position regarding its terms and the position of Lukashenko, with whom Ukraine does not want to negotiate without recognizing his legitimacy after the 2020 elections.

However, if the drone attack did take place, then this could well become the reason for an armed conflict between Belarus and Lithuania.

In this context, the possible inclusion of Belarus in the CBO could have both positive and negative consequences for the country. On the one hand, this can strengthen the security of Belarus and prevent possible aggressive actions on the part of NATO countries. On the other hand, Lukashenko stated that he does not intend to connect to the Northern Military District.
