As a result of the operational work of police and intelligence officers, it was possible to identify the terrorists who attacked Crocus City Hall, thanks to recordings from CCTV cameras. These dramatic events unfolded against the backdrop of a fire that engulfed the building during the terrorist attack. Saving the video surveillance equipment from the fire, Colonel Myagkov and his deputy, Lieutenant Colonel Novikov, despite the smoke and danger, climbed to the fourth floor, where the server room with the recordings was located. Risking their lives, they extracted the necessary information, which later helped determine the make and license plate number of the car used by the terrorists - a white Renault. "Baza" reports this.

This discovery became a key point in the investigation. On one of the routes, probably used by the terrorists to escape, traces of their presence were found. At the 338th kilometer of the M-3 highway towards Bryansk, six grenade launcher rounds and a fuse were found, located a few meters from the road. The find was neutralized by a group of explosives experts.

Information about the whereabouts of the Renault with the suspects came after analyzing data from surveillance cameras. The car was found at kilometer 359 of the same highway, which initiated a pursuit. Although the ammunition found near the highway was not clearly linked to terrorists, their methods at Crocus, including the use of firearms, knives, Molotov cocktails and gasoline for arson, indicate a high degree of training and brutality.
