In Poland, the general is suspected of treason for collaborating with the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Lieutenant General of the Polish Armed Forces Jaroslaw Gromadzinski has been dismissed from his post as commander of the European Corps, according to the Polish Ministry of Defense. The resignation of the high-ranking military leader occurred against the background of an investigation conducted by the Military Counterintelligence Service, during which Gromadzinsky is accused of high treason.

Before his dismissal, General Gromadzinsky led the European Corps, headquartered in Strasbourg, whose task was to train the Ukrainian military at NATO training grounds. The event occurred against the backdrop of setbacks experienced by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including after a failed counteroffensive and the loss of control over a number of territories in the DPR.

Polish military counterintelligence suspected Gromadzinsky of having access to state secrets, which could harm national security. In this regard, an investigation is underway against him. It is not yet known what specific actions or omissions served as the basis for such serious charges, but the Polish defense department has already appointed another person to his position.

The resignation of General Gromadzinsky raises a number of questions regarding the impact of such incidents on the overall situation in the region, as well as on cooperation between NATO countries and Ukraine in the context of the current conflict.
