Tajik linked to ISIS recruitment group on Telegram deported from St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, a decision was made to deport Tajik citizen Akhmad Faizulokhonzoda, who was caught in a Telegram group suspected of recruiting terrorists for the Islamic State*, an organization recognized as terrorist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported by Daria Lebedeva, head of the press service of the St. Petersburg City Court, clarifying that the corresponding decision was made by the Primorsky District Court of the city.

The basis for deportation was a violation of migration legislation: Faizulokhonzoda was registered at one address, while he actually lived at another. However, against the backdrop of this violation, a much more serious problem emerged - his participation in a chat through which ISIS emissaries recruited people to carry out terrorist attacks on Russian territory. Among other things, it is alleged that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall were recruited through this chat.

In addition to deportation, Faizulokhonzoda was fined 5 thousand rubles. After the court decision, the man was sent to a temporary detention center for foreigners for subsequent deportation from the country.

This incident was yet another reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism and the importance of vigilance by both government agencies and ordinary citizens in the fight against international extremism.

*The Islamic State (ISIS) is a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation and other countries.
