The Russian Albatross M5 drone has proven to be highly effective as the main gunner for the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) and artillery in repelling attempts by Ukrainian saboteurs to break through into the Belgorod region. This became known from a representative of the developer company in a conversation with the TASS news agency. After a series of upgrades aimed at adapting to the conditions of real combat operations, the UAV gained the ability to operate at a distance of 60 to 80 kilometers, which allows it to target both aviation and artillery units with high accuracy.

Incidents in the Belgorod region demonstrated the invaluable role that the Albatross M5 plays in the Russian border security system. The drone crews continued to aim combat weapons at the enemy throughout the counter-offensive of Ukrainian sabotage groups, thereby ensuring effective defense of the territory.

The Russian defense industry is actively developing and improving unmanned aerial vehicles, adapting them to the current needs of the armed forces. In addition to the Albatross M5, the Lancet drone has been significantly strengthened, which is successfully used to carry out missions to destroy enemy military equipment and personnel, which emphasizes Russia’s desire to integrate high-tech solutions into the field of defense and security.
