Large-scale raid at the Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal: dozens of migrants detained

In Elektrostal, near Moscow, a large-scale raid by police and the Russian National Guard took place on the territory of the warehouse of the famous online store Wildberries, as a result of which at least 40 migrant workers were detained. The action is aimed at identifying persons working in the Russian Federation without the appropriate permits, including registration visas, temporary residence permits (TRP) and labor patents. In addition, the detained men's military IDs were checked to ensure their compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The operation in Elektrostal caused a wide public outcry, especially among human rights organizations opposing discrimination against migrant workers. According to eyewitnesses, security forces actively blocked the territory of the warehouse, preventing the free movement of people, and detained those who were unable to provide the necessary documents.

The detainees were taken to the police department for additional verification and clarification of their identity, as well as to clarify the circumstances of the violation of migration legislation. This operation was one of many carried out recently as part of strengthening control over compliance with labor and migration laws in Russia.

The authorities emphasize that such measures are necessary to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens, but human rights activists point to the risk of human rights violations and call for more humane treatment of migrant workers.
