Bomber Su-10. A photo. History. Characteristics.
The Sukhoi Design Bureau in 1947 was developed experimental Su-10 as a high-speed bomber. Unfortunately, the car was not up in the air, since the project was closed in the year 48.
Brief history of the bomber Su-10
In winter 1946, the Sukhoi Design Bureau has come a resolution on the creation of a new bomber, which is to have four turbojet engine model YuMO-004. In April of that year, the designers started creating sketches, and in June were ready all the necessary design scheme. In October 46-th layout was created SU-10, which was approved by the state commission. At the end of this year, it began full-scale static assembly machine instance.
In 1947-m started production tests in which the aircraft was partially destroyed: the wing was torn off when tested to the load. By the end of the year 47 end assembly work, but there was a delay in development due to lack of space at the plant. Also, the designers did not get it right weapon for the machine tooling.
Early next year, it was decided to install the machine four engine type TS-2, but flight tests carried out on the engines of the type TP-1, which had less traction. In early June, 48, the Council of Ministers published a new decree, which said on the reduction of funding the aviation industry. A 12 June this year, issued a decree on the closure of the project of a new bomber Su-10.
Precisely because of this, Su-10 never made his flight.
The design of the Su-10
This machine has been manufactured as an all-metal monoplane, which was equipped with odnokilevym plumage. The cabinet consists of 51 bulkhead are connected stinger. It also includes a few spars. With regard to plating, it is smooth. Such a surface was obtained by decreasing joints. Fuselage skin has a thickness in the machine 2 mm.
As for the power plant, the designers came to design it with great enthusiasm, as it has four turbojet engines packet scheme. The motors type TP 1A placed under the wings of the machine and two on the upper part of the wing. Designers had thought the shift motor in a vertical plane, which has reduced the distance between them. Furthermore, the service engine ground was thus quite convenient. Due to the fact that the engines of the power plant have been located closer to the front of the wing, it is possible to achieve the best characteristics of the structure of the Su-10. When designing the placement of engine designers took into account all the aerodynamic properties of the wing.
To manage Su-10 4 person crew was required, namely, the chief pilot, gunner, navigator and one gunner-observer who could cover aircraft fire from behind. 3 first pilot based in the bow of the machine, and the latter was in the stern.
Mate's cabin in the front part of the fuselage, it was a great all-round visibility. Above it was posted cockpit and radio operator. Under the cockpit was a nose landing gear and the niche in which it evolved. Behind the cockpit was placed one of the fuel tanks.
As for the middle part of the Su-10, it was presented as a cargo bay, which were made hatches for dropping bombs. At the end of the bay was also set another fuel tank, followed by the host system parachute brake machines. The case ended with the cab, which was the shooter. To this cab was attached ladder by which the arrows could climb into his cab.
Wing machine was made of the two side members, which are based on the working lining. Wing spars are made of girder principle. In the manufacture of the wing used various metals. The ailerons were two sections and equipped with four sections of the flap. Kiel apparatus consisted of two side members and has been manufactured with duralumin. Posting control consisted of wires and rods.
The Su-10 had a system chassis, which consisted of three pillars that were removed during the flight in the middle of the fuselage in special niches. Under the scheme design was trehsterzhnevoe chassis, which was equipped with front and side strut. That is the side brace, and cleaned the rack in a niche.
This bomber was a hydraulic system, which consisted of three separate parts. The first part provided the landing gear and braking systems provide work for the wheels. And this part of the working of the left engine, and more specifically, on its hydraulic pumps. The second part has been working on the right engine and was designed for stabilizing and turning the rifle tower. The third part of working on the right engine and operates the elevators and direction, and also provides the ailerons. Even in case of emergency hydraulics could ensure the normal operation of all systems.
Due to the fact that the Su-10 had a big enough size and weight, designers are faced with such a problem as a large take-off run. Even four turbojet engines could not provide the required power take-off. Designers had to equip the unit with additional powder rockets, which were installed on the body. These missiles were to provide additional drive power for takeoff and after burning must have been automatically disengaged from the plane body. All in all this was planned to install the machine 4 such missiles.
It is also quite mature and the new system has on-board equipment of the machine, unfortunately, this development has not been completed.
