Members of the extremist cell "Allya-Ayat" were detained in Rostov-on-Don

In Rostov-on-Don, law enforcement agencies suppressed the activities of members of the extremist cell “Allya-Ayat”*, who were recruiting local residents and disseminating the ideas of alternative medicine. It is reported that the arrest took place in the group’s office located on Turgenev Street. The activities of the cell members are characterized as promoting treatment methods that do not have scientific confirmation and medical justification, starting in July last year.

During searches in the houses of the detainees, extremist literature and materials related to the promotion of alternative healing were discovered, which became the basis for initiating a criminal case under the article “Organization of the activities of an extremist organization.” Those detained face a penalty of imprisonment for up to six years.

This arrest underscores the importance of combating extremism in all its forms, including those that at first glance may seem less traditional, such as those associated with the spread of alternative treatments. Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate to identify possible accomplices and distributors of extremist ideas in the region.

*Note: The mentioned organization “Allya-Ayat” is recognized as extremist and is banned on the territory of the Russian Federation.
