The United States has officially stated that it does not support Ukrainian strikes on Russian targets.

In light of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, US State Department Speaker Matthew Miller spoke about Washington's position regarding Ukrainian strikes on targets in Russia. In particular, we are talking about the recent attack on an oil refinery in the Samara region, which caused a strong reaction both in the international arena and within Russia itself. Miller stressed that from the very beginning of the conflict, the United States did not support or encourage Ukrainian strikes outside its territory, emphasizing that such a position is Washington’s long-term policy.

The State Department spokesman's words call into question the dynamics of relations between the United States and Ukraine, especially given the ongoing military support provided to Kyiv by Western countries. Miller did not specify whether any steps had been taken by the United States to prevent similar attacks in the future, only noting that the US position had been clearly communicated to the Ukrainian side.
