Lavrov praised China's peace plan for Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed Moscow's positive reaction to the peace plan for the Ukrainian conflict proposed by China. In an interview with Izvestia, he expressed support for the initiative, which includes a proposal to lift unilateral sanctions against Russia and ensure equal security for all participants in the process.

Lavrov emphasized that the Russian side is committed to reaching agreement not on the basis of ultimatums, as proposed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Western allies, but through a serious analysis of existing security problems and recognition of current realities. The Minister emphasized the importance of guaranteeing Russia's legitimate security interests in the process of resolving the conflict.

Lavrov also pointed to Russia's obligation to take into account the interests of all parties, including the rights of the Ukrainian people to education, the use of the Russian language and the preservation of the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, which, according to him, were violated by Ukraine.

The minister expressed the opinion that the Chinese peace plan is based on a deep analysis of the causes of the Ukrainian crisis and contains proposals for eliminating them. Russia’s position, as follows from Lavrov’s words, is aimed at constructive dialogue and the search for compromise solutions that can ensure peace and stability in the region.
