A militant was blown up by an IED during his arrest in the Samara region.

An emergency event occurred in the Samara region associated with an attempt to commit a terrorist attack. Andrei Zhvakin, a 30-year-old member of the RDK organization, which is recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia, died during the operation to detain him. According to information disseminated by Baza, Zhvakin was suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in the Samara region on instructions from the SBU. His target was a humanitarian aid reception point, which he planned to blow up.

The events unfolded a few days ago when, during an attempt to arrest, Zhvakin tried to escape by running into a forest belt. Hiding behind a tree, he was armed with an improvised explosive device (IED). According to sources, security officers demanded that Zhvakin get rid of the explosives, but they exploded right in his hands.

After the incident, searches were carried out in Zhvakin’s apartment, as a result of which the residents of the house on Gagarin Street were evacuated. The Russian Federal Security Service reported on the prevention of the terrorist attack, indicating that Zhvakin acted under the patronage of the Ukrainian special services and was an accomplice of the RDK organization banned in Russia.
