Manual Boeing - a glossary of terms. The letter R.
RACK
Shelves, storage units in a compartment of electrical and electronic equipment.
RADAR
RADAR, a device that measures the time between transmission and reception of radio pulses and provides information on range, azimuth and / or excess of objects along the direction of the transmitted pulses.
RADIO ALTITUDE (HEIGHT)
RADIOVYSOTA, the distance of the aircraft above the ground, a certain radio altimeter system.
RAM AIR

RAM AIR TURBINE
AIR ram-air turbine, a device that comes with a side of the fuselage, and is driven by an external air flow for an emergency supply of hydraulic or electrical power.
RAM, sm.-RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY.
RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
Memory with random access memory type, in which data can be written and read. Commonly used for a short period of memorization.
RATIO CHANGER
Changer gear ratio, mechanical device to change the speed of the output relative to the input speed.
RAW DATA
The raw data, the data from the sensors are not converted by the system.
READ-ONLY MEMORY
MEMORY apply only to read, a block of memory in which instructions and data are permanently stored for use by the computer. Under normal conditions persist information can not be changed.
RECEPTACLE
CONNECTOR, one half or two-part compound. Normally mounted on a support, for example, panels.
RECIRCULATED AIR
Return air, conditioned air is mixed with the air from the passenger compartment.
REDUCED THRUST
Increased thrust, thrust level less than the maximum thrust mode.
REED AND PRINCE SCREW
REED and PRINCE SCREW, a kind of cross-shaped heads with slots. (CM.Phillips Head).
RATIO
Ratio defined the relationship between the numerical value of one to the other.
REFERENCE LINE
LINE reference line used on the maps as a starting point for the application of corrections to the input values on the map. One or more reference lines are used successively.
REGULATING VALVE
REGULATING VALVE valve for controlling pressure or flow.
RELAXED
Unexcited, impervious CURRENT state of the electrical component or circuit breaker that does not pass an electric current.
RELAY
SWITCH, the switching device in which the contacts are opened and closed depending on the particular current or voltage.
RESERVES
RESERVE, the fuel remaining on board after landing at the airport of destination.
RESERVOIR
Tanks, containers for liquid storage.
RESTRICTOR
Limiter throttle dimensional hole to reduce the flow or pressure of the fluid.
RELIEF VALVE
Safety valve, the valve, which prevents high blood pressure in the connection with the environment.
RESTRICTOR CHECK VALVE
LIMITING (THROTTLE) check valves, the same function as that of the limiter, but misses the flow in only one direction.
RETARD
CLEANING GAS, autothrottle mode is used to reduce the thrust of the engine to idle.
REVERSION
RETURN, change to the previously planned regime.
RHEOSTAT
Rheostats, electric apparatus for changing the resistance in an electrical circuit.
RIG PIN
ADJUSTING pin metal pin inserted in the movable component before adjusting the control cables and connectors.
RIGGING
Rib design element airfoil wing, stabilizer or control surface.
ROD END (NO. 1)
FINAL stroke position, the hydraulic control mechanism, the extreme position of the piston in the cylinder rod side.
ROD END (NO. 2)
Supports, a mechanical device, typically a bearing sleeve or similar element on the end of the stem or rod-type push-pull (with reciprocating motion).
ROLL
ROLL rotation of the aircraft about the longitudinal axis.
ROLL AXIS
Roll angle, changing the angle at which the plane is rotated by a transverse axis (wing up, wing down).
ROTARY VARIABLE DIFFERENTIAL TRANSDUCER
ROTATING VARIABLE INDUCTANCE DIFFERENTIAL
ROTATE
Transformers (inductive sensor with differential transformer), a device with input rotation and linear output.
ROTOR
Rotor rotating section of the engine (turbine compressor) or generator.
ROUTE DISCONTINUITY
ROUTE GAP provided FMC control, in which the parts of the route are not connected.
ROUTE LEGS
Section of the route, part of the route that connects two points along the route of flight.
ROLL RATE, The rate at which the airplane moves on the roll axis (wing up, wing down).
ROM, see.-READ ONLY MEMORY.
RVDT, SEE - ROTARY VARIABLE DIFFERENTIAL TRANSDUCER
RUDDER
Rudder pivotally-movable portion on the rear surface of the vertical stabilizer of the airplane to control the displacement of the vertical axis.
