The aggravation of the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina raises fears about the possible emergence of a new armed conflict in Europe, which could divert the attention of the European Union from the problems of Ukraine. It is reported by "European truth".

According to the publication, after a visit to Moscow and receiving an order from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Milorad Dodik, the head of the Republika Srpska (one of the two constitutional entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina), began to implement previously announced plans to secede from the region from the country.

Dodik ordered the police of the Republika Srpska to introduce control on the administrative border with another entity - the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. So far, we are talking only about checks, without the introduction of passport control. In addition, the leader of the Serbian region announced his intention to ban the work of the State Prosecutor's Office and the Agency for Investigation and Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its territory.

A referendum is also scheduled for September, during which the citizens of the Republika Srpska will express their opinion on the status of the region. All these actions raise fears in the West that the leadership of the Republika Srpska really intends to secede from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All of these actions increase the likelihood of a new armed conflict in Europe. At the same time, Ukraine, which has long been at the center of attention of European politics, may be relegated to the background.
