Slovakia sent 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

Slovakia transferred all its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of Slovakia announced the transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, as previously promised. This was reported by Reuters. According to the information, the transfer of military aircraft took place without any incidents.

Earlier, Russia accused Slovakia of violating the agreement on military-technical cooperation of April 29, 1997, since Slovakia was not supposed to re-export Russian weapons transferred to it under this agreement, but instead transferred them to Ukraine.

Slovakia, on the other hand, claims that it did not violate any agreements and transferred the fighters in accordance with international law and taking into account the interests of national security. At the same time, Slovakia emphasizes that the supply of weapons to Ukraine is one of the measures to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The MiG-29 fighter is a Russian/Soviet military aircraft that was first flown in 1977. It is used to perform tasks for the protection of airspace and air combat. The MiG-29 can intercept air targets at a distance of up to 200 km and is highly maneuverable. The aircraft is operated by several countries in the world, including Russia, Ukraine, India, Poland and others.
