The Pentagon is concerned about problems with the latest US Air Force F-35 fighters

The United States has serious problems with the American F-35 fighter.

Columnist David Narmania reports that the American F-35 fighter has encountered serious technical problems that prevent its successful use in combat conditions. The expert noted that the "childhood illnesses" of technology have led to the fact that less than a third of the aircraft purchased by the US allies can fulfill all the tasks assigned to them.

Initially, it was planned to assemble up to 3,5 thousand F-35 fighters, however, the assembly process turned out to be difficult due to an increase in the number of defective units. As a result, only 36% of all assembled aircraft are fully usable.

The main problem of the F-35 was a defect in the power plant. In addition, aircraft experience difficulties in the transition to supersonic speed, which leads to damage to the skin and a decrease in the degree of stealth. Pilots also face hypoxia due to a malfunctioning oxygen supply system and problems with the helmet display.

Manufacturers are working to correct the shortcomings, however, these efforts entail increased costs and potential delays in the execution of contracts. Experts continue to monitor the development of the situation and evaluate the impact of problems on the ability of the F-35 to perform its combat missions.
