Iran strongly condemns Israeli strikes on Syria

The Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed strong condemnation of the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force on the territory of the Syrian province of Aleppo on Friday night. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani appealed to the international community and the UN Security Council to take deterrent measures against Israel in light of these events.

According to information from the Syrian Ministry of Defense, both civilians and Syrian military personnel were killed as a result of the attacks. Kanaani stressed that such Israeli actions constitute a serious violation of international laws, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and also threaten peace and security at both the regional and international levels.

The incident was part of a series of strikes regularly carried out by Israeli aircraft on Syrian territory in the context of the ongoing military conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement. Israel has shelled Damascus and Aleppo airports in the past, causing them to temporarily shut down.

Two civilians were also reported injured in an Israeli strike on a residential building in the capital Damascus province, further raising tensions in the region.

In light of these events, Iran calls on the international community and especially the UN Security Council to actively respond to Israeli actions aimed at escalating the conflict and take measures that can prevent further violation of peace and security in Syria and the Middle East as a whole.
