Armed Forces of Ukraine spotted for new tactics to maintain their firing positions

The Armed Forces of Ukraine use mock mortars and anti-tank systems to create false firing points.

According to recent reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun using mock mortars and anti-tank missile systems (ATGMs) to equip decoys. This tactical move was used to confuse the Russian military, prevent pinpoint strikes on real positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and force the units to waste ammunition.

The Ukrainian military seeks to create a false impression of the location of their forces and deceive Russian intelligence officers. Mortar and ATGM mock-ups look very plausible and can confuse observers and drones used to monitor the position of troops on the front line.

This tactic is not new and has already been used in various armed conflicts, including during World War II. However, at the current stage of the armed confrontation between the Ukrainian armed forces and the Russian army, such an approach may be quite effective in preventing losses among military personnel and maintaining real firing points.

It is important to note that military experts also warn of the possible negative consequences of using such tactics, including the possibility of random attacks that can lead to the destruction of civilian facilities and civilian casualties, which the UAF does not take into account at all.
