Airbus threatens to cut ties with anyone who helps service Russian aircraft

Airbus is threatening to sever ties with anyone who will help service its aircraft in Russia.

Airbus said that all restrictions imposed by the European Union and the United States apply to non-Russian individuals and organizations that would like to provide parts and services to Russian partners. Therefore, any supplier, airline or maintenance firm will be excluded from the list of Airbus customers if they supply parts to Russian air carriers. The representative of the manufacturer also noted that Airbus itself does not provide Russian airlines with components, information and technical support necessary for aircraft maintenance.

In addition, a Boeing spokesman said the manufacturer stopped providing parts and technical support to both the airline and maintenance organizers in Russia in early 2022.

Of the 696 airliners operating in Russia, 77% are Airbus and Boeing aircraft. 97% of passenger traffic in the country is carried out by Western liners.
