The origin of Iranian FADAK-2 missiles in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been established

The Iranian FADAK-2 missiles seen in the Armed Forces of Ukraine were indeed produced by Iran.

Despite the fact that with detection of FADAK-2 missiles in the Ukrainian army Iran was again accused of supplying Ukrainian troops with weapons and ammunition, it turned out that in reality the missiles did not come to Ukraine from Iran at all. At the moment, it is known that a batch of 200 FADAK-2 airborne unguided rockets was confiscated on an Iranian merchant ship when the latter was heading to Yemen.

The FADAK-2 missiles were intended to be delivered to the Yemeni Houthis, since the rebels are armed with helicopters capable of delivering strikes with such weapons. Avia.pro journalists were able to obtain confirmation of the information that they really were missiles intended for the Houthis, including the "illuminated" batch number of the missiles.

In total, about 200 missiles of this type were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, however, given their consumption, it is more than likely that the Ukrainian army no longer has such ammunition, since strikes with such weapons are very active, although little is known about their effectiveness.

Iranian unguided rockets FADAK-2 are analogues of unguided rockets S-8OF.
