A few days ago in Kharkov, a local TV tower was hit, resulting in its partial destruction. The event has already caused a significant resonance on the Internet, so it is necessary to clarify some details and circumstances of the incident.

According to Donbass Partisan, the Russian military used an X-59 missile, which hit the structure of the television tower at an altitude of approximately 190 meters. This led to the collapse of the upper part of the structure. It should be noted that information about any additional attacks or sabotage has not been confirmed.

The strategic importance of this facility is difficult to overestimate. The TV tower was used not only for television broadcasting, but also as a key communications center for the Ukrainian armed forces. It provided long-distance communications between anti-aircraft missile battalions and military formations, and also served as a platform for reconnaissance operations.

At the top of the tower were placed equipment for passive electronic and electronic reconnaissance, as well as electronic warfare equipment. This equipment played an important role in the detection and identification of electromagnetic and radio frequency signals over long distances, which created significant interference in the operation of Russian radio-electronic equipment in the border area.

Thus, the destruction of the television tower not only deprived the enemy of an important strategic asset, but also significantly weakened its ability to conduct intelligence and communications operations in the region.
