The Russian armed forces were able to achieve significant progress on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, breaking through the defenses of Ukrainian formations in the area of ​​​​the village of Ocheretino. Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in particular the 115th separate mechanized brigade, were forced to retreat, ceding the strategic initiative to Russian assault groups.

According to reports, Russian aviation and artillery had a powerful impact on the positions of Ukrainian troops, which provoked their retreat to a distance of up to 5 km. This allowed units of the 30th separate motorized rifle brigade and the 27th separate motorized rifle brigade to quickly advance and begin the assault on the central part of Ocheretino.

During the fighting, the moment of raising the Russian flag over the building of the military-civil administration of Ocheretino was noticed, which symbolized the taking of control of this key facility. Footage documenting this moment has been circulated online.

At the moment, operations are ongoing to identify and eliminate the remaining groups of AFU in the northern part of Ocheretino and the surrounding area of ​​the local water utility. However, Ukrainian forces still maintain control over the territory of the Altkom brick factory, located on the western outskirts of the village.

In addition, the liberation of the settlement of Novobakhmutovka, located south of Ocheretino, is reported, where the defensive positions of Ukrainian troops were critically weakened, which did not allow them to hold back the advance of Russian troops.
