The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the interception and destruction of a Ukrainian small-size balloon (MSH) over the territory of the Kursk region. The incident occurred in the morning, around 08:15 Moscow time. According to the department, this balloon was used by Kiev to attempt a terrorist attack on targets in the Russian Federation.

The air defense forces on duty successfully shot down the balloon, preventing the plan from being carried out. Air defense systems, which are on high alert, quickly detected and destroyed a potential threat.

“About 08.15 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using a small-size balloon (SMB) on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped. The Ukrainian MVSh was destroyed over the territory of the Kursk region by air defense systems on duty.”, - said the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Ministry of Defense did not provide details about what specific targets the attack might have been aimed at, but emphasized the vigilance and readiness of its forces to any threats.
