Poland continues to build up its military capabilities by signing an agreement with South Korea to acquire an additional 72 K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems. The total transaction amount was US$1,6 billion. The move follows a previous 2022 contract for 218 such systems, signaling Warsaw's desire to significantly strengthen its defense capabilities.

The first batch of 18 MLRS, including the necessary ammunition, was successfully delivered to the Polish Armed Forces last year. This made it possible to begin mastering the latest weapons in a short time.

The K239 Chunmoo is a highly capable multiple launch rocket system capable of firing both guided and unguided missiles over significant distances.

The purchase of the K239 Chunmoo is part of a large-scale modernization program for the Polish army.
