The German chancellor decided to allocate 19 Leopard 2A5 tanks to Ukraine.

After unprecedented pressure on Germany and its Chancellor Olof Scholz, Germany decided to transfer two companies of Leopard 2A5 tanks to Ukraine. Taking into account the tanks supplied by Poland, this makes it possible to form a tank battalion consisting entirely of combat vehicles of this type. This information is provided by the German edition of Spiegel.

According to Bundeswehr insiders, the list already indicates which models are suitable for delivery to Ukraine. According to the current list, there is a possibility that Germany could transfer 19 Leopard 2A5 tanks. The troops say that the 2A5 models will most likely have to be abandoned, since they are used only for exercises, while we are talking about tanks that were already in service. However, the delivery of other combat vehicles is also noted, although details are not given.

There are no official statements from the German authorities and the German Ministry of Defense on this matter yet, however, Berlin does not see the need to transfer tanks to Ukraine, at least at the moment, especially against the background of how Germany has actually lost access to Russian titanium and is now experiencing difficulties with the production of these heavy combat vehicles.
