The night before, the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant became the target of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles. According to Baza's source, at about three o'clock in the morning two UAVs crashed into the building of oxygen station No. 2 of one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Russia. As a result of the attack, the building's structures were partially destroyed and windows were broken.

According to Baza, after the incident the operation of two oxygen units had to be stopped, which could affect the plant’s production processes. Detailed information about the scale of destruction and damage has not yet been clarified.

Governor of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov expressed his outrage at the incident, blaming the Ukrainian military for the incident. According to him, the target of the attack was the infrastructure of the industrial zone of Lipetsk.

The events around the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant are causing serious concern among the region's leadership and plant workers, since this is not the first attempt to attack the enterprise.
