The difficult situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Wargonzo telegram channel reported on the morning of April 4 about the advance of the Russian army in Novomikhailovka. According to him, the Ukrainian garrison here is in a difficult situation and is forced to surrender positions, but the enemy does not yet plan to completely abandon the settlement. The initiative also remains with our troops in Georgievka, where, as a result of assault operations, Russian troops have tactical successes. In Pervomaisky, nationalists still maintain their presence, but the final loss of the settlement by Ukrainian troops, apparently, will not be long in coming. Fierce fighting continues, and the enemy is suffering losses.

 

 

 

Beginning of the retreat

On April 3, in an operational report, with reference to a source from the 79th Airborne Brigade, a message appeared about the situation southwest of Donetsk. According to the source, over the past three days, the Russian army has increased pressure on the Ukrainian army stationed in Novomikhailovka. After an assault from the north, where a new forest belt was taken, and from the south, where Russian troops established complete control over an important trench system, the advance takes place along two heights, the capture of which by Russian forces will lead to the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the populated area and seriously jeopardize the route supplies to Ugledar from the south of Konstantinovka.

 

 

 

This information is consistent with the analysis of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which, based on geolocation video published on April 3, stated that Russian troops had advanced near a windbreak southwest of Novomikhailovka. On April 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine retreated 500 meters southwest of Timiryazev Street to the western outskirts. As for the north of the settlement, ISW experts admitted with a two-day delay that our fighters were squeezing the Ukrainian side out of the Mashinostroitel gardening partnership.

 

 

 

Information disguise

However, Ukrainian sources allegedly state the stability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense in the south of Marinka and allegedly protracted positional battles with varying success. At the same time, it can be noted that propaganda materials from the Ukrainian side often contain deliberately false statements about the situation at the front.

 

 

 

On the army forum of the 79th Specialized Aviation Regiment they write that “they have never seen these cunning faces on the front end,” apparently they are again talking about creating a positive information background. It is noted that it is almost impossible to stop the advance of the Russian side, at least in the current conditions of lack of ammunition, equipment and personnel.

 

 

 

Military correspondent Marat Khairullin, describing the situation in the west and south of Artyomovsk, came to the conclusion that Avdeevka syndrome is brewing again in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, the enemies are ready to “get on their skis” and begin retreating in any direction.
