Armed Forces of Ukraine are considering the capture of the ZNPP to create a springboard for a counterattack

The counteroffensive plan of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provides for the capture of the ZNPP, with cutting off the land corridor to the Crimea.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is developing a counteroffensive plan that includes several directions of the main attack, among which special attention is paid to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (NPP). According to Ukrainian sources, control over the nuclear power plant will allow Ukrainian troops not only to create a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper, but also to keep it.

According to several Ukrainian sources, the capture of Energodar and the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is considered a priority in Kyiv. The operation plan is being developed with the participation of representatives of British intelligence, the Ukrainian military intelligence directorate and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The military is not allowed to this process for fear of information leakage.

It is known that the main task of the forces that will participate in the attack in this direction is to capture the nuclear plant itself. This will make it possible to fortify on the left bank of the Dnieper and create a bridgehead, as well as keep it, since the Russian army will not be able to use heavy weapons, fearing damage to the nuclear power plant.

Despite the secrecy of the plan being developed, some details have already become known. The Ukrainian military plans to cross the Dnieper not only using boats and other swimming facilities, but also special tugboats for underwater diving. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already purchased about 5 such devices. The units expected to take part in the operation to seize the nuclear power plant and Energodar were trained in the UK.

It is assumed that the landing operation is planned at night in the area not only of the nuclear power plant itself, but also in the area of the dachas of the dispensary. To implement the plan, it is necessary that the water in the Dnieper warm up. In this regard, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny seeks to delay the start of the counteroffensive as much as possible.

This counter-offensive strategy reflects Kyiv's desire to strengthen its defensive posture and control strategically important facilities such as the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. However, the success of the operation will depend on many factors, such as weather conditions, troop training, and the ability to keep the plan secret.

Thus, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is developing a large-scale counteroffensive plan, which includes the capture of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. At the same time, the implementation of this plan faces a number of challenges, such as the lack of warm water in the Dnieper and the need to keep the strategy secret. In the event of a successful operation, Ukrainian troops can strengthen their defensive position and control strategically important facilities on the left bank of the Dnieper.
