Three schoolchildren were detained in the Smolensk region on suspicion of setting fire to relay cabinets

According to investigators, on April 17, a sixth-grader, an eighth-grader and a ninth-grader burned two relay cabinets and damaged a third at the Gusino station. The investigation believes that the schoolchildren did this for 70 thousand rubles, and received the task from a stranger on Telegram. The money was transferred to the Tinkoff card of one of the teenagers.

The detained schoolchildren admitted to their crime and gave evidence. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

Teenagers face criminal liability for hooliganism causing significant damage. The maximum penalty for this crime is imprisonment for a term of up to five years.

Investigators are continuing their investigation to identify all possible suspects and determine the motive for the crime.
