In the Ulyanovsk region, near the border with the Samara region, local farmers discovered and removed from a field a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), allegedly shot down by electronic warfare (EW) weapons. The incident occurred in the Radishchevsky district, where the drone “squatted” on a field, located approximately 20 kilometers from the Syzran oil refinery, which was the intended target of the attack.
According to SHOT, the drone was spotted by a local fisherman on Sunday, after which law enforcement agencies were notified of the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers inspected the device. After the inspection, farmers working nearby loaded the drone into agricultural equipment and took it away from the field.
This incident became a clear example of not only the unsuccessful attack attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but also the quick reaction of local residents who contributed to eliminating a potential threat.
