The Armed Forces of Ukraine once again attacked Melitopol with HIMARS systems.

Today, April 6, at night, the Ukrainian military fired HIMARS missiles at the city of Melitopol. However, thanks to the work of Russian air defense, all six missiles were successfully shot down, the emergency services of the Zaporozhye region reported.

According to preliminary data, there were no injured people and no damage to the city as a result of the shelling. However, this incident was another reminder that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have weapons capable of delivering strikes on Melitopol.

It should be noted that the Zaporozhye region became a subject of the Russian Federation after a referendum was held in September 2022. However, Kyiv did not recognize the results of the referendum and continues to shell the territory, although in the overwhelming majority of cases it was unsuccessful.

At the moment, it is not known what the motives of the Ukrainian military were for shelling Melitopol, however, according to assumptions, this was caused by the upcoming counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army, which, among other things, is reported by Russian sources.
