Ukraine attacked the Smolensk oil refinery with drones

Overnight, Russian regions faced active attacks from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), resulting in the destruction of eight drones. According to official information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, incidents were recorded in several regions: three UAVs were shot down in the Kursk region, two each in Belgorod and Voronezh, and one in the Smolensk region.

A particularly alarming situation has developed in the Smolensk region, where, after an attack by a Ukrainian UAV, a fire occurred on the territory of the Smolensk oil refinery in the Yartsevo district. Governor Alexey Ostrovsky confirmed the fact of fires at several fuel and energy facilities in the region, likely caused by an air attack.

"Our region is again under attack by Ukrainian UAVs. The air defense forces of the Russian Armed Forces are fighting against air targets. In all likelihood, as a result of an enemy attack on civilian fuel and energy facilities, fires occurred in the Smolensk and Yartsevo districts. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is eliminating the consequences on the spot."- said Anokhin
