An Israeli strike on Iran destroyed the S-200 air defense system - the S-300 complex left its position before the attack

OSINT specialist Chris Biggers published on his Twitter a new satellite image obtained by Umbra SAR, which allegedly indicates a recent Israeli strike on an Iranian battery of the S-300PMU2 anti-aircraft missile system in Isfahan. Images taken on April 19, 2024 show damage to the radar (92N6E), as well as the fact that other components of the system have been moved from their original location. The status and location of these components remain unknown.

Analyzing the changes, Biggers emphasizes that the Israeli operation was targeted, and the strike was carried out exactly as intended by the operational plan. He notes that although the main blow fell on the S-300 battery, evidence of the site being hit is confirmed by observations.

In turn, another OSINT specialist Babak Tagvey disputes this version, pointing out that the Iranian S-300 air defense system was relocated in advance, and the strike was carried out on an already empty site. He also adds that it was in fact the old S-200 type air defense system that was destroyed, which changes the context of the operation.
