Gas prices in Europe fell below $450

The cost of gas in Europe has fallen to the level of prices in July 2021.

Opened morning trading on European stock exchanges led to a sharp decline in the cost of natural gas. At the moment, prices are at the level of mid-July of the year before last: in just one hour of morning trading, the price of gas dropped to $442 per thousand cubic meters, having overcome another psychological mark of $450 per thousand cubic meters.

According to experts, a slight price adjustment should be expected in the near future. However, it is more than likely that the cost of natural gas in European markets will fall to a record $400 per thousand cubic meters.

At the same time, it is known that despite the fall in exchange prices, the cost of gas for the population of European countries has increased compared to the level that was recorded two years ago. This is most likely due to the desire of the EU governments to compensate for the previously incurred costs of buying gas at a price of $ 2500 per thousand cubic meters or more.

According to a number of estimates, the probability of a fall in the cost of gas in Europe below $400 is extremely unlikely.
