The Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov, armed with 16 Zircon hypersonic missiles, is already in NATO's backyard

The Russian carrier of hypersonic missiles "Zircon" is located in the Red Sea.

At the moment, it is known that the crew of the Russian frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" conducted exercises in the waters of the Red Sea. However, it is expected that within the next few days, the Russian Zircon hypersonic missile carrier will enter the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which is considered the "backyard" of NATO. It is noteworthy that, while in the Mediterranean, Russian Zircon hypersonic missiles reach virtually any NATO country in central, southern, western and eastern parts of Europe.

From the side of the Mediterranean Sea, NATO countries are the least protected, not to mention the fact that NATO countries do not have any means of protection against hypersonic weapons. The appearance here of a Russian frigate armed with almost two dozen Zircon hypersonic missiles may also be a means of securing against Kyiv's counteroffensive, since Russian missiles reach any point on the territory of Ukraine from the Mediterranean waters.

The frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" is the flagship of project 22350 in service with Russia. The ship is capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including protection of coastal waters, anti-submarine operations, air defense and anti-ship defense. The armament of the ship includes Caliber and Onyx missile systems and Zircon hypersonic missiles, the Poliment-Redut anti-aircraft missile system, the AK-630M automatic artillery mount and torpedo tubes. "Admiral Gorshkov" also has the ability to take on board helicopters and drones.
