The attack of Ukrainian drones on the Sevastopol Bay was successfully repelled, the ships of the Black Sea Fleet were not injured.

April 24, 2023, Sevastopol - At night, an attack was made on the Sevastopol Bay using two Ukrainian maritime surface drones. According to available information and statements by the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozzhaev, the attack began at around XNUMX:XNUMX am, when the drones tried to break through to the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in the bay.

However, a successful operation by the anti-submarine and sabotage forces of the Black Sea Fleet (PPDO) made it possible to destroy one of the drones, and the second, presumably, self-destructed. As a result of the attack, none of the objects or ships of the Black Sea Fleet received any damage.

Local residents have reported loud sounds coming from the sea at night. The Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozzhaev, in his TG channel confirmed the attempted attack on the outer roadstead, but stated that the Black Sea Fleet ships were not injured and the drones could not reach them.

“Today, starting at 3.30 am, an attempt was made to attack Sevastopol. According to the current situation: one surface drone was destroyed by the PPDO forces, the second exploded on its own. Everything happened on the outer raid, no objects were damaged. Now the city is quiet. But all forces and services are on alert.”- said Mikhail Razvozhaev.

At the moment, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian Ministry of Defense did not issue official comments on this incident. In Sevastopol, the situation is calm, the forces and means of the fleet are in a state of combat readiness.
