An unmanned aerial vehicle completely destroyed the Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defense system.

The anti-aircraft missile system was supposed to cover the positions of the Ukrainian military from missile and bomb attacks, however, it fell victim to an unmanned aerial vehicle. As a result of the defeat of the Ukrainian air defense system by the Lancet drone, two missiles were detonated, which led to the complete destruction of the complex, as well as, apparently, the crew.

Despite the fact that the air defense system is quite old, experts assess the destruction of the Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defense system as a heavy loss for the Ukrainian army. This is due to the fact that the Ukrainian army has a relatively small number of air defense systems of this type, while at the forefront, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for obvious reasons, will not be able to deploy modern Western medium and long-range air defense systems, since the latter are designed for cover of Ukrainian cities and military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
