Russian missile accurately hit Ukrainian Mi-8 near Avdiivka

Russian anti-aircraft gunners shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 near Avdiivka.

Avia.pro journalists had a video recording at their disposal, which captured the moment of the successful defeat of the Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter in the Avdiivka area. According to the source, the Ukrainian rotorcraft carried out strikes with unguided missiles, however, it was successfully spotted by Russian anti-aircraft gunners and after a few seconds, engulfed in flames, crashed.

In the video footage, you can see how the Mi-8 helicopter, engulfed in flames, is trying to escape to the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The exact number of people on board is unknown. However, thanks to the capabilities of the Russian Verba MANPADS, the number of helicopters available to Kyiv has been significantly reduced.

At the moment, quite heavy battles are going on for Avdiivka, while, as previously reported, the Russian military managed to successfully gain a foothold on the eastern outskirts of this settlement, which indicates a serious gap in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

MANPADS "Verba" has an improved guidance system using infrared sensors, which ensures high accuracy and resistance to electronic warfare. The system has the ability to hit targets moving at speeds up to 1000 km / h at distances up to 6 km and at altitudes from 10 to 3500 meters. Effective against air targets such as airplanes, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles.
