In the Kaluga region, there was an explosion of the Soviet drone Tu-141 "Strizh", converted into a kamikaze drone.

Not far from Kaluga, a Soviet unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Tu-141 "Strizh", which was converted into a kamikaze drone, exploded, the Shot information portal reports. According to the source, a large amount of explosives, striking elements, as well as an additional fuel tank were installed inside the drone. This modification allows the drone to cover a distance of up to 1000 kilometers.

The first to report the fall of the object was the driver of the truck, which was moving in the direction of Serpukhov. According to him, around 19:00 pm he observed the fall of an object resembling a bird in shape. This was followed by a powerful explosion, as a result of which waves of dirt, debris and branches flew onto the road.

The area around the drone crash site was immediately cordoned off. Explosives were called to the scene to inspect the wreckage and clarify the details of what happened.

The crash site of the UAV was discovered only on the morning of May 17. Evening searches on May 16 were suspended due to the onset of darkness. The wreckage of the device was found in a forest strip near the site of the alleged fall.

Now the exact model of the drone can be installed only after it has been inspected by explosives specialists. Currently, no one is allowed near the drone crash site due to possible danger. Authorities are investigating the incident.
