One pilot died, the fourth crew member cannot be found

One of the crew members of the Tu-22M3, which crashed in the Stavropol Territory, died.

The search for the fourth pilot continues, said regional governor Vladimir Vladimirov. It has not yet been possible to find him.

Governor Vladimir Vladimirov reported on the Telegram channel that one of the crew members of the Tu-22M3 aircraft that crashed in the Stavropol Territory died.

“Updated data has been received on the incident with a Russian military aircraft in the Krasnogvardeysky District. Unfortunately, the third crew member died. I express my condolences to his family and friends. The search for the fourth pilot continues,” the head of the region wrote.

Shortly before this, the governor of the Stavropol region, Vladimirov, said that the two pilots were taken to a medical facility.

On Friday morning, the Ministry of Defense announced the crash of a Tu-22M3 bomber in the Stavropol Territory. The incident occurred on the way back to the base airfield after completing a combat mission.

According to preliminary data, the violation occurred due to a technical failure. At the time of the incident there was no combat equipment on board, and the plane crashed in a deserted area. The department noted that there was no destruction on the ground.
