After successful hostilities in Bakhmut, Russian troops may launch an offensive against Bakhmut from the north as early as next week.

At the moment, Soledar is undergoing a cleansing of the city. A number of sources report that shooting and explosions are still heard in Soledar, however, after the city is surrounded, final control over Soledar can be established within the next 24-72 hours. Nevertheless, it is more than likely that immediately after this an offensive will also begin on Bakhmut, since any delay here can lead to the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will regroup and strengthen their positions, especially since there is an open and fireable area between Soledar and Bakhmut .

According to experts, the attack on Bakhmut from Soledar may begin as early as next Monday. This is expected to give the effect of surprise and in such a case Bakhmut may also be surrounded. At the same time, there is a much larger grouping of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in Bakhmut, which can complicate the process of quickly taking control of the city.
