Moldova staged a serious provocation against Russia

Moldova called Russia a threat to the country's security.

The Prime Minister of Moldova, Dorin Recean, said during a speech in the country's parliament that Russia is currently a security threat to Moldova. According to Rechan, there is no doubt that it is Russia that allegedly poses a threat to the Moldovan state.

However, sociological surveys of the population show that the majority of Moldovans do not want to break close economic and cultural ties with Russia. In this regard, Recean touched upon the issue of the neutral status of the country and stressed that Moldova should pay more attention to the development of its defense capability.

Despite this, the Prime Minister called the policy of neutrality "imposed" and "an instrument of foreign policy." He also expressed the need to acquire tanks, aircraft, missiles and further develop the country's defense capabilities.

However, Rechan acknowledged that high military spending may not be practical for small and poor Moldova, which cannot fully cope with paying for energy resources. In general, Rechan's statement indicates growing tensions in relations between Moldova and Russia, as well as the need to strengthen the country's defense capability, however, obviously, this statement was not without pressure from the West.
