Lithuania to hand over Bofors L70 anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine

Ukraine will receive Bofors L70 anti-aircraft guns from Lithuania.

Lithuania has decided to transfer an unspecified number of Bofors L70 anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine to combat unmanned aerial vehicles, including Geran drones. Large-caliber anti-aircraft installations are expected to be used in the coastal area to repel air attacks.

The exact number of anti-aircraft installations transferred to Ukraine is not disclosed, however, due to their large caliber, such installations can also be used to destroy armored vehicles, however, due to the vulnerability of the Ukrainian air defense system to drones, Bofors L70 anti-aircraft installations are supposed to be used exclusively to combat air goals.

The Bofors L70 anti-aircraft guns were developed in the late 40s and, in essence, are quite old weapons, however, due to the 40-mm caliber shells used. and high rate of fire, such installations are quite a serious danger.
