Israel fires three air-launched ballistic missiles at Iran

Israel carried out a night strike with three ballistic missiles on Iranian territory, NBC News reports, citing informed sources. It was said to be a "limited" retaliatory strike targeting military targets in the Isfahan area, where the explosions were reported to have occurred.

The Iranian agency IRIB claims that the country's air defense systems were activated in response to the approach of drones, but emphasizes that nuclear facilities in Isfahan province were not damaged. Iranian officials confirmed to The New York Times that the main target of the attacks was a local airbase.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the drones shot down over Isfahan did not cause significant damage. He also accused pro-Israel media of trying to exaggerate the impact of the attack.

However, according to Avia.pro, the Iranian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was moved just before the attack, which prevented its destruction, but the fixed S-200 launcher was destroyed. This comes a week after Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel, significantly escalating tensions in the region.
